Non-bailable warrant of arrest issued against BJP leader

SHILLONG, JULY 25: A local court on Monday issued a non-bailable warrant of arrest against the BJP MDC from Tura Bernard N Marak @ Rimpu after he was alleged of running a brothel in his private farm house following a police raid that led to the arrest of 73 persons and rescuing of 5 minors.

 

“A non-bailable warrant of arrest has been issued against Bernard N Marak by the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Tura,” official sources said.

 

Marak, a former chairman of the disbanded Achik National Volunteer Council – Breakaway (ANVC.B), has been absconding after a sex racket was busted in his private farm house, they said.

 

BJP state vice president had categorically denied running a brothel at his private farm ‘Rimpu Bagan’ and alleged that the police raid was staged since BJP is growing from strength to strength in Garo Hills region.

 

Bernard further claimed that he is not evading arrest but is fearful for his life as the Chief Minister had issued a special order to gun him down.

 

West Garo Hills police had claimed to havebusted a prostitution racket in the private farm house run by the BJP MDC which led to the arrest of 73 persons and rescue of 5 children besides seizure of liquors and unused contraceptives.
