SHILLONG, FEB 19: The Purno Sangma led National People’s Party (NPP) has released the first list of candidates who will be contesting in the upcoming Assam assembly elections.
The list which has two names was approved at a meeting of the NPP Assam State Election Committee attended by the party’s national president Purno A Sangma and general secretary Thomas Sangma among others.
“We have approved two names in the first list, who will be official candidates of the party in the forthcoming elections,” NPP Spokesperson James Sangma said in a statement on Friday.
The two names includes Punam Chand Sharma who will be contesting from 37 Goalpara East LAC and Daniel G Momin from 17 Bokajan LAC, he said.
Sangma also informed that second list of candidates will be released in a meeting to be held shortly.- By Our Reporter
