Party high command will decide his fate: Mawrie

SHILLONG, AUG 17: BJP state president Ernest Mawrie on Wednesday said nobody is demanding for his removal.

He said the statement about the party’s move to remove him was made by Meghalaya In-charge Dr Chuba Ao.

Mawrie said that he had already sent a report and the party high command will decide accordingly.

“They have already called me yesterday. I have sent the report on the statement that has come in the print media so they have given me the green signal that they will do the needful. Our high command will do the needful, I cannot give any counter statement…,” he said.

Mawrie said whatever is happening is an internal matter of the party.

“We don’t have any differences, we are united but you see the opinion of anybody I cannot stop. They have got the right to express so it is totally their own statement,” he added.

Stating that his term will end in 2023, the state president said that it is up to the central leadership on whether he should continue or resign.
