TURA, JULY 8: After a lull, a group of unidentified gunmen on Friday abducted a pharmacist Biplab Dhar, 40 from Dumnikura village, near Sibbari in South Garo hills. Dhar from abducted from the weekly market, while he was there to sell medicine at about 8:15 am. Two other associates of Dhar managed to flee from the scene.
“We believe this to be the handiwork of dacoits. Police teams have been sent to scouti the area to rescue the victim”, said SP of South Garo Hills Anand Mishra. Police suspect Dhar was whisked away to Bangladesh through the nearby dense forest area.-From Our Correspondent
