Office attendance varies

SHILLONG, SEPT 27: The second day of the pro-ILP ngos sponsored office picketing continued to affect the functioning of the state, central government offices, banks and other financial institutions in the state. The overall office attendance has been put at sixty percent throughout the state.

Political department official said that the attendance percentage of government employees remain almost the same except in East Khasi hills and West Khasi hills district. East Khasi hills district recorded fifty one percent attendance compared to Thursday when it was fifty-five percent. West Khasi hills district was lowest with only twenty percent government officials attending the office during Friday’s picketing.

Ri-Bhoi district recorded fifty percent, South West Khasi hills district seventy-one percent, East Jaintia hills and West Jaintia hills ninety percent, West Garo hills district sixty percent, East Garo hills ten percent North Garo hills sixty percent, South Garo hills sixty percent and South West Garo hills eighty percent.- By Our Reporter
