Migrant labourers recorded

SHILLONG, APR 6: Over 300 migrant labourers were verified and their particulars recorded during the infiltration and verification drive conducted by East Khasi hills district police.

The infiltration and verification drive was conducted by the Special Infiltration Squad of East Khasi hills district in the different constructions sites within Shillong city last month, SP M Kharkrang said.

“During the drive, 386 migrant labourers were verified and their particulars recorded,” he said.

Stating that all migrant labourers are from different states of the country, Kharkhrang said, “Intimation has been sent to the district superintendent of the concerned district from where they hailed for verifying the address and documents.”

Kharkhrang further informed that the drive by Special Infiltration Squad will continue.- By Our Reporter
