SHILLONG, May 17: Williamnagar police station constable Buhai D Shira was arrested and put under suspension after he had threatened two village boys on Thursday morning. It is learnt that around 12:40 noon on Thursday Shira went to Balsrigittim and New Samgong villages and threatened to kill the two youths. He reportedly was in his union and carried an AK-47 rifle.
The authorities of the two villages immediately informed Shira superiors about the threat made by him to two boys from the two villages. The police immediately arrested Shira and have put him under suspension. Police have started the investigation into the allegation.
In another incident a constable belonging to the 2nd MLP Battalion reportedly stole a motor cycle belonging to one Prem Bahadur Chettri from his residence in Gimbigre in West Garo hill district. The incident took place on May 12 and a complaint has been lodged against the constable.
