SHILLONG, JULY 7: Meghalaya government on Thursday approved the Meghalaya Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 2015 which emphasized on necessary protection to be given to workers. “We have approved the Rules, which is simpler but more effective,” chief minister Mukul Sangma told reporters after a cabinet meeting.
The decision was taken after the Mining and Geology Department was asked to come back with a more fine-tune proposal. “The rules will guide the authorities concerned for regulating measures which include necessary protection for people is taken care off,” Sangma said.
He said that as per the rules, there will be no scope for misusing of the provisions in view of the state’s economy already affected due to acts of benami transactions.-By Our Reporter
