The alignment of Pynursla Bypass under the package-III of the Shillong-Dawki road project could not be finalized due to objections raised by local people.

This was informed before the Meghalaya High Court on Monday during the hearing of a PIL filed by Kaustav Paul.

The order passed by Chief Justice S Vaidyanathan and Justice W Diengdoh said an affidavit dated February 12, 2024 has been filed and details of the five packages have been mentioned.

In regards to the package-III, the affidavit said that the alignment is under finalization and that the detailed project report (DPR) is under progress.

However, the alignment of Pynursla Bypass could not be finalized due to objections raised by local people, it said.

The order also informed that the Additional Advocate General has sought three weeks’ time to find out the feasibility of giving quietus to the issue. Granting his request, the Court has fixed the next hearing on February 26.
