I-League opener: Advantage Lajong as it play visitor Mohun Bagan

Shillong, Oct 5: Shillong Lajong FC will be eying to score full points when they take on Kolkota’s football giant Mohun Bagan, during the inaugural day match of the I-League 1012-13.

On the other hand Mohun Bagan will be satisfied if they could hold the local outfit. Shillong Lajong is in a favorable position as it familiar with the home ground especially if it pours on the match day as it is quite habitually playing on a wet ground which the visitor are not used to.

“Boys are complaining of the cold” said Bagan coach Santosh Kyshyap adding “away matches are always difficult”.

Kyshyap, further said “his boys are used to playing before lakhs of spectator’s especially when they take on East Bengal so crowd factor will not have any impact on the team but he felt the weather may harm the team a bit. A former Mahendra and Mahendra player, he  said “The match will be interesting as Lajong is a good side”.

On the other hand Lajong has promised to give a fight till the last whistle whatever the result may be. “We will fight till the end” Lajong coach Desmond said adding “It will be a high voltage match”.

Lajong is hoping its supporters will turn in a big way to support the team. “We hope the turnout tomorrow will be big and they will cheer their team” said the English coach.

Lajong has a blend of experienced and new kids. “We have blended the team with the experienced players and some boys from the academy who are totally fresh for I-League” said Desmond. The match kicks off at 2:45 pm, at JN Sports Complex.-By Our Reporter
