SHILLONG, JAN 31: The Meghalaya SSA Schools’ Association (MSSASA) on Tuesday demanded that the state government release the revised pay for all the SSA teachers who had completed and undergoing the D.EL.ED programme 2014-15. In a letter to the chief minister Mukul Sangma submitted on Tuesday, MSSASA president Aristotle C Rymbai said, “We request you to accord sanction and release fund for the revised pay as notified by the SSA-SEMAM for all SSA teachers who had completed D.EL.ED programme 2013-14 and those who are still undergoing the D.EL.ED programme 2014-15.”

He said non release of the revised pay was because the delay in declaring the results and obtaining the certificate as trained teachers.

He informed that nearly 3500 SSA school teachers who had undergone the D.EL.ED programme 2013-14 till today have not obtained the professional certificate which is added qualification as trained teachers.

“We request you to take action personally on the issue by intervening with the Chairman of the NIOS for issuing a formal/official letter on the assurance for the declaration of the results of the D.EL.ED 2013-14,” he said.

The teachers had earlier staged protest demanding the NIOS to rectify the alleged faulty result.

Meanwhile, the MSSASA has also demanded that the state government to settle the welfare of all the SSA teachers in the state by finding out a solution to depute the in-service teachers of upper primary and lower primary who have not completed the 2 year course professional training to another institution.

“This will ensure that the teachers may not face the same grievances and irregular attitude that took place with the NIOS,” Rymbai stated in the letter.
