SCB complaint cell go online

SHILLONG, MAY 10: The Shillong Cantonment Board (SCB) has gone online striving to serve the residents of its area better by making lodging of grievances for them easy as they can now lodge complaints online without having to go to the SCB office.

The web portal was launched on Friday launched and the SCB CEO S. Prabakaran expressed his happiness on the step taken by his board to bring about transparency and accountability in the functioning of the board.

Prabakaran also felt that the portal will also encourage people to lodge their grievances without going through cumbersome official procedures.

What is more the public can now also view the status of their complaint and see whether any steps are being taken to redressed it. If nothing is being done the residents can also send reminder.

The portal was shown to all the ward commissioners of the cantonment.

The residents of the cantonment area can also upload pictures as a proof of any wrong doing by the board with its jurisdiction.- By Our Reporter
