SHILLONG, APR 4: The East Garo Hills district is gearing up for the upcoming “Seed Festival” to be organized in three locations within the district under the Meghalaya Integrated and Basin Development and Livelihood Program. The festival is being organized by the Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDA) in collaboration with the District Basin Development Unit of East Garo hills district.
East Garo hills deputy commissioner Vijay Kumar Matri informed that under the Samanda C&RD block the festival will be held at Williamnagar market parking on April 6 followed by Songsak C&RD Block to be held at Songsak market on April 9 and the last one will be held under the Rongjeng C&RD block at Rongjeng market field on April 13.
During the seed festival, farmers could avail various technical knowhow of modern method of cultivation practices or post harvest management practices.– By Our Reporter
