Service of school teachers

SHILLONG, APR 25: The state government has assured to direct the Sub-Divisional School Education Officers (SDSEOs) to complete the process of confirmation of services of the non-government lower primary school teachers. The assurance was given by the Commissioner & Secretary in-charge Education Department DP Wahlang in a meeting held recently with the delegation of the All Meghalaya Primary School Teachers’ Association (AMPSTA).

“He (Wahlang) has assured that he would take up the matter with the Director and to direct all the SDSEO’s to complete the confirmation at the earliest possible,” APSTA Treasurer L Tiewsoh said in a statement on Monday.

The association has sought to delete the word “without allowances”  and replace it with the word “with allowances” in the notification issued by the department on September 3, last year with regard to deficit non-government lower primary schools which enjoys government scale.

On this, Wahlang made a commitment that he will surely delete the word without allowances at the earliest, Tiewsoh said.

With regards to the nonpayment of head teachers allowance to the head teaching under jurisdiction of the SDSEO in-charge Nongpoh, Ri Bhoi, Tiewsoh said, “Wahlang informed the members that he will discussed the matter with the director to find out what went wrong with the SDSEO Nongpoh for nonpayment of HTA.”

Meanwhile, Wahlang also informed that the ACPS is already being implemented and only those teachers who completed all the formalities are entitle to claim the ACPS, Tiewsoh said.-By Our Reporter
