State records 268 new Covid cases

SHILLONG, JAN 19: The state on Wednesday recorded 268 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total active cases to 1,444.

 

Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said 164 cases were detected from East Khasi Hills, 50 West Garo Hills, 17 Ri Bhoi, 11 West Jaintia Hills, 7 South Garo Hills, 5 North Garo Hills, 4 East Garo Hills, 4 West Khasi Hills, 3 South West Garo Hills, 2 South West Khasi Hills and 1 East Jaintia Hills.

 

Dr War also informed that 142 persons have recovered from the viral infection of which 123 are from East Khasi Hills, 7 West Garo Hills, 6 Ri Bhoi, 2 East Jaintia Hills, 2 West Jaintia Hills, 1 East Garo Hills and 1 South Garo Hills.

 

So far, the state has detected a total of 87,075 COVID-19 cases out of which 1,444 are active cases, 84,139 recovered and 1,492 deaths.

 

East Khasi Hills has the highest number of COVID-19 cases with 1,032 followed by West Garo Hills 174, Ri Bhoi 95,  West Jaintia Hills 37, West Khasi Hills 31, East Jaintia Hills 27, South West Khasi Hills 12,  South Garo Hills 11, South West Garo Hills 10, North Garo Hills and 8 East Garo Hills 7.
