Replace medicines:Hek

SHILLONG, JUNE 15: The state government has directed a committee to instruct all the suppliers to replace the over Rs 4 crore–expired medicines, which were supplied to the state health department earlier this year.

The direction came after the submission of report the Fact Finding Committee (FFC), which was constituted by the government to probe into the alleged disposal of outdated medicines.

“I have asked the Joint Procurement Committee to take the issue related to the need for immediate replacement of these medicines as top priority,” Health Minister AL Hek told reporters on Monday.

The Joint Procurement Committee headed by the Additional Chief Secretary in charge Health Department Y Tsering will be sitting tomorrow, to review the demand-supply of medicines in the state.- By Our Reporter
