Shillong, Nov 5: The Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) and the 5th MLP Battalion raided the residence of GNLA commander-in-chief Sohan D Shira at Nengmendalgre, East Garo hills, wee hour of Monday and recovered cash and other expensive materials.
Police sources said that the raid took place at about 3:30 am after the SWAT commando and the police got information. The security force recovered Rs 22, 83,500, eight wireless set two chargers, two Sony handy cam , three solar plate, four LED Home Lights, three mobile phones (2 micromax and a blackberry), sixteen SIM Card and two charger battery.
The security forces recovered all these things from the rooftop of Sohan’s house.
The SWAT commandos and the police also raided the house of Sohan’s relative Salte Ch. Momin and got 21 fans, 3 solar plate, 3 solar UPS and digital generator. Acording to sources all these materials were to be taken to the GNLA hideout in Durama, across the Simsang river.- By Our Reporter
