Toppers reveal their mantra for success

SHILLONG, MAY 23: Both the SSLC and the HSSLC toppers say that one needs to certainly put in hard-work to be able to scale greater heights in life and that the support of parents and teachers are indispensable to ones success.

The HSSLC first ten position holder Evamagricia Snaitlang also feels that it is important to have a vision and be clear of what you want to achieve in life as this will make your journey to the top that much easier.

A student of the Shillong College, Snaitlang overcame ill health to get to the top of the HSSLC chart. She had earlier been a science student in St. Anthony’s but had to shift to the art steam in Shillong College because of her nagging health issue. Now she has no regrets as she expressed her gratitude to her parents and teachers for being her pillar and supporting her in her endeavour to achieve only the best.

Snaitlang told this website,  “We can only plug the fruits of success when we set our goal straight and run for it.”Success, according to her, is all about hard work and determination to succeed.”

Shillong College principal  KD Nongsiej said, “We are very proud of her as she has brought laurel to this institute for the first time.”He hoped that through Snaitlang achievement the college will now be on its way to become a premiere institute and centre of excellence. He urged other students to also follow her footsteps.

Not surprisingly Snaitlang wants to pursue honours in economic and later sit for the IAS examination.

Surabhi Roy, who ranked third in the list of twenty SSLC toppers and is a student of St Mary’s Higher Secondary School, said she was overwhelmed by the result and hadn’t expected to be a topper. She gave credit for her success to her parents and my teachers who had always been supportive to her.

Surabhi, however, revealed that she studied for around seven hours with dedication but was also a fun loving girl like any other normal students. She said, “Apart from study I love to go out and have fun at the same time.”
