Tynsong term BJP’s allegation ‘political’

SHILLONG, DEC 6: Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Tuesday termed the BJP’s allegation against the ongoing inaugurations and foundation stone laying by the NPP-led state government as “purely political”.

The state president of the BJP Ernest Mawrie had said that like the Congress in 2014, the drowning NPP is resorting to last moment eyewash inaugurations and foundation stones laying ahead of 2023 Assembly polls.

Commenting on this, Tynsong asked Mawrie to come to the secretariat and find out how the government is getting money for such developments.

“I would like to request the president of the BJP state unit Meghalaya please come here in secretariat you will get everything, how we got money for FOCUS, how we got money for creation of Civil Sub-Divisions, how we got money for creation of C&RD blocks and so on and so forth,” he said.

“Just asking in the air, you don’t get anything because this allegation is purely political only but if you really wanted to know exactly how we manage the finances of the state, I think we can sit down especially they are part and parcel of the government – so we are ready to share everything,” Tynsong stated.
