Vigilance committee meeting

SHILLONG, FEB 14: Tura Lok Sabha  MP Purno A Sangma, accompanied by former MPs Agatha Sangma and Thomas Sangma and Jimmy Momin, members of the Vigilance and Monitoring Committee held a meeting with the district administration and the heads of various government departments of North Garo hills at Resubelpara circuit house to discuss the implementation of Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna (SAGY) on 12 February.

Highlighting the benefits under SAGY, Sangma explained in brief the idea of conceptualization the villages and its people which falls under this new scheme and asked the departments to prepare village development plan within a week’s time for which the deputy commissioner will seek the technical support from the State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD).

Sangma also informed that Achugre village under Mendudam Gram Sevak circle had been projected as the model village under SAGY in the district.
Sangma will visit the district again for final approval of the proposed plan before sending it to the concerned department.

Among others who attended the meeting include the former deputy chief Minister TD Shira and the sitting MDC SK Sangma. The meeting was presided over by the deputy commissioner, W Khyllep and Resubelpara BDO Leena Daring, proposed the vote of thanks.- By Our Reporter
