‘Withdraw power cut’

SHILLONG, OCT 31: The Kiang Nangbah Govt College Students Union (KNGCSU) on Monday demanded that the state government withdraw the ongoing load shedding taking into account that students’ examinations are just close. In a statement, KNGCSU social service secretary Semiyone Tariang said, “We demand the state government and the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL) to temporary withdraw the ongoing load shedding.”

He said the demand is made to ensure that there is “disruption free” preparation of the students for the upcoming different examinations in the state.

A delegation of the union also met the MeECL senior official in Jowai and urged the authority to avoid any power cut during night time as the annual examinations which will commence in another few days.

Tariang said that power cut at night has affected the preparation of the students at the school and college level.

Meanwhile, the KNGCSU also extended its best wishes to all the students who will be appearing for the different examinations.-By Our Reporter
