SHILLONG, MAR 18 : The office of the Deputy Commissioner (Elections) Tura and Returning Officer for the 2- Tura Lok Sabha constituency organized Youth Voters Awareness Programme for Class XI students of Don Bosco College Tura at the college premises on Tuesday.
In his address, West Garo hills deputy commissioner Pravin Bakshi said the objective of having such a programme was to encourage and motivate the young voters to vote. He also added that the youth also have the power to motivate the parents and the society to exercise their franchise.
An on the spot Quiz Competition was also held to seek participation of the young
students. Among others who participated in the awareness programme were Fr Johnny, Principal, Don Bosco College, A V D Shira, ADM and Sector Officers of 50- North Tura and 51- South Tura.- By Our Reporter
