SHILLONG, MAR 18: Meghalaya deputy chief minister RC Laloo, holding education portfolio, informed the assembly on Tuesday that the department has failed to get any views and suggestions from the stakeholders on the draft State Education Policy.
“The draft State Education Policy has been uploaded in the department’s website since six months ago, however till today we have not been able to get any response from the stakeholders for necessary views and suggestions,” Laloo said in his reply to a supplementary question on Monday.
Laloo informed that the department is still waiting for the views and suggestions from stakeholders and have not taken any steps to speed up the process.
Raising a question on the delay of the policy, NPP legislator James K Sangma suggested the state government to explore other ways and means to ensure that the education policy is in place.
Laloo informed that the Education policy is under process of getting the approval.- By Our Reporter
