2 Covid deaths, toll at 1,577

SHILLONG, FEB 26: The state on Saturday recorded 2 COVID-19 related deaths, taking the number of fatalities to 1,577 even as 24 have tested positive for the virus and the total active cases now stand at 189.

The fresh cases include 7 from East Khasi Hills, 3 each in East Garo Hills, Ri Bhoi, South West Khasi Hills and West Garo Hills and 1 each in East Jaintia Hills, Eastern West Khasi Hills, North Garo Hills, South West Garo Hills, and West Jaintia Hills.

A total of 44 persons have recovered from the viral infection.

So far, the state has detected a total of 93,437 COVID-19 cases out of which 189 are active cases, 91,671 recovered and 1,577 deaths.

East Khasi Hills has the highest number of COVID-19 cases at 61 followed by Ri Bhoi 24, West Garo Hills 23, West Jaintia Hills 19, North Garo Hills 15, South West Garo Hills 11, East Jaintia Hills 11, Eastern West Khasi Hills 7, West Khasi Hills 7, South West Khasi Hills 7 and East Garo Hills 4. South Garo Hills has zero Covid cases.
