90 local taxis fined

SHILLONG, JULY 1: Over 90 local taxis were detected plying in the city without proper documents, Shillong police traffic informed on Tuesday. The traffic department said,“We have detected as many as 92 local taxis plying without proper documents and fine of Rs 38, 600 have been realized.”

Most of these taxis detected were plying in many areas including Khyndai Lad point and Laitumkhrah, SP traffic NK Syiem said.  Stating that such checking will continue, he said,” We urged all local taxis to have all the required documents once they intend to ply on the road.”- By Our Reporter
