ASAK demands Rs 2 lakhs

TURA, AUG 5: Meghalaya police laid an ambush on the A’chik Songna An’pachakgipa Kotok (ASAK) outfit at Machangpani, near Dalu, about 50 km from  Tura, but three militants of the outfit managed to escape.

The outfit had demanded Rs. 2 lakh from one Bonku Saha and was on their way to collect the cash, when the police laid an ambush.

The incident took place around  2 pm on Tuesday.

West Garo hills SP Mukesh Singh said, “We had inputs that the militants would come to his residence to collect the ransom. There was brief exchange of fire but the three militants managed to escape”.

Police have recovered .32 pistols with two live ammunitions from the spot.- From Our Correspondent

    strange story…high time to cross check his inputs…and to make it sound more real he must have thrown a .32 from their armoury…If they knew the militants would come then why not wait to get them and don’t tell me before they could enter the jittery mukesh started shooting…such a cock and bull story…but his bosses gulp it down and laud his sick stories…in fact he just is picnicking around…..its rumored he even has a Garo girlfriend…..maybe I am wrong but its surprising that there is so much law and order with him around…
