Ban on river poisoning

SHILLONG,APR  29 Ri Bhoi district magistrate  has imposed ban through an order under Section 144 CrPC  poisoning of rivers, streams or any other water bodies with the explicit or implicit intention to cause large scale destruction of aquatic life within the district which  may endanger the local, indigenous fish population, flora and fauna  and also which can pose a serious health hazard to human life. This order has been issued in view of the large scale poisoning of rivers, streams and other water bodies within the district.- By Our Reporter
