Bangla thieves lynched

TURA, NOV 20: Two alleged thieves from Bangladesh were today lynched at Sibbari village in South Garo hills, while they were crossing the border.

The incident took place at Chambil in Sibbari around 5 am. The members of Badimgre Village Defence party apprehended the thieves. The dacoits in their early 20s are said to be the cadres of Bangladeshi Tiger Force (BTF), a rebel outfit.

“We were informed about this group, who had stolen a motorcycle from Chokpot. We were alert and have been waiting, when we saw them approaching with the bike, we got hold off them. Two of them managed to run away and cross the border with the bike”, said a member of the Village Defence Party.

Angry mob thrashed the duo to death. Their identity is not known. Police has confirmed the lynching and is investigating.-From Our Correspondent
