BSF rescue coal exporter

SHILLONG, NOV 14: The Border Security Force (BSF) rescued a coal exporter Janking  Marak in Gasuapara in South Garo hills district. Marak was kidnapped by suspected GNLA militants from his house on November 1. The BSF said that the force laid an ambush near the international boundary (IB) with Bangladesh near border pillar 125 in area of Border Outpost Gasuapara. On Wednesday night the BSF observed some people were trying to ex-filtrate from India to Bangladesh.

The BSF challenged those who were trying to cross over to the Bangaldesh side but the four suspected GNLA militants fled leaving behind the kidnapped exporter who was blindfolded. Marak was handed over to his relatives and taken to hospital. The police was also informed about the incident. It is learnt that Marak was kidnapped by the GNLA after he failed respond to the outfit’s demand note. –By Our Reporter
