Lajong looking for a win against Sporting Clube

Shillong, Oct 27: Fifth placed Shillong Lajong will play tenth placed Sporting Clube de Goa in the round three match of the I-League here at JN Sports complex Sunday Lajong had a great kick off of the I-League beating Mohun Bagan 2-0 and holding Salgaocar SC 1-1.

However for the Goa team it has not been  easy going as it drew with East Bengal 0-0 in the round one match while Dempo hammered them 0-5 in the round two match of the league.
“We have been little unlucky as our entire foreign recruit have been unfit,” justified coach Soibam Ekendra. Sporting Clube has been playing without foreign player in the last two matches.
Ekendra said, “We deserve to win three points and the result in the Goa Professional League against Church Hills Brother has been a moral boaster for the team.”  Brushing aside the poor show by his team he, however, said the team will give a good fight and also try to adjust with the cold weather in Shillong.Shillong has been recording about twenty plus temperature at the begging of the winter. Ekendra said that the team has come from hot weather and it is quite cold in Shillong hoping that his boys will be able to adjust to the weather condition and pocket three full points.

On the other hand Lajong, who is expected to attract capacity crowd on Sunday match, will go all out to pocket the vital three points and strengthen its position. Lajong head coach Desmond Bupen said he has no worry as far as injury is concern and said the team is expected to play with the first eleven.

Bhupen said, “We will play our normal game and hope to give a good match before the home fans”. Sunday match kicks off at 2:45 pm.- By Suraj Joshi
