SHILLONG, JAN 29: In what can be described as a shot in the arms of the National People’s Party (NPP) in Meghalaya, former MLA from Mahendraganj constituency and senior Congress leader Nidhuram Hajong joined the NPP along with thousands of his supporters.
Hajong joined the NPP in the presence of the national president,PA Sangma and state president WR Kharlukhi. Hajong had contested the 2013 elections from Mahendraganj constituency but lost. He secured over 4600 votes.
Hajong said he believes in the leadership of PA Sangma and felt that keeping in mind the current situation of Meghalaya, especially Garo hills, Sangma is need to bring normalcy in the region.- By Our Reporter
