At a farewell function in her honour on Friday Kumari informed that the Sixth Schedule is an important provision laid down for the protection of the minority communities.

Justice TMK Singh will take temporary charge as Meghalaya high court acting chief Justice until a regular chief justice is appointed

Kumari said the Sixth schedule is there for the protection of the interests of tribal population and felt there might be occasion when these laws will be misinterpreted and, therefore, work against the overall interests of tribal people.
