SHILLONG, JAN 20: The Council for Protection of Civil Rights (CPCR) alleged that that siiting Mawprem legislator Manas Chaudhuri has violated the election model code of conduct by sanctioning the constriction of footsteps at Barapathar.
The allegation was made by CPCR general secretary Pawan Sharma in a complaint lodged with the State Chief Election Officer (CEO) urging the latter to to take action against Chaudhuri for allegedly violating.
Pawan said that as per the labourers working on the site the work was allotted on January 20, under the MLA scheme by Chaudhury through one Krishna who employed Rajesh Shah and Umesh Shah to execute the construction work. –By Our Reporter
