SHILLONG, SEPT 21: The Children’s Film Festival organized by Children’s Film Society of India (CFSI), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Cinedarbaar in collaboration with the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Government of Meghalaya was held on Wednesday at the District Library Auditorium, Mynthong, Jowai.

Parliamentary Secretary Robinus Syngkon graced the inaugural function as chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Syngkon lauded the efforts of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Meghalaya, Children’s Film Society of India (CFSI) and Cinedarbaar for organising such a meaningful film festival in the district. He also stated that such film festival will not only enable the student community to learn and analyse the storyline but will also broaden their mindset and communication skills.

During the programme, two films namely, ‘Kima’s Lode-Beyond the Class’ and ‘Mother I Love You’ was screened. Students from different schools of Jowai attended the festival.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, DM Wallang, Extra Assistant Commissioner BJ Kharshandi, C Passah, Deputy Director, Information and Public Relations, Assistant Director of Information and Public Relations, R Muksor and North East head of Cinedarbaar, Satya Raj Rai were among others present at the inaugural function.

As part of the weeklong Children’s Film Festival across the state, four films will be screened at U Soso Tham Auditorium, Shillong on the September 22nd and 23rd.-By Our Reporter
