SHILLONG, DEC 27: One person was shot dead by suspected Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) militants in a remote village of North Garo hills district on Friday afternoon. Police sources informed a group of armed militants shot dead one Allwyn M Sangma at Megong A’Kong village under Kharkutta outpost.
The militants also hanged the body on a tree near Kharkutta Forest Reserve, sources said. Sangma who hails from Chokpot in South Garo hills district was earlier arrested by Tura police on cases related to arms act and was later released on bail.- By Our Reporter
