GNLA militant arrested

SHILLONG, MAY 28: A Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) militant was arrested by the police from Shillong on Wednesday. A special teams of police were deployed in an  area where the militant identified as Tuseng S Sangma was staying at Pohktieh locality, East Khasi Hills District SP M Kharkrang said.

Sangma (22), is resident of Bokhongre Phulbari in West Garo Hills District, he said.  A total of 11 brand new mobiles meant for GNLA, cash worth Rs 17, 500 and camouflage uniform were also seized from his possession.

Kharkhrang said preliminary investigation revealed that Sangma was sent by Baichung Area Commander of West Garo hills of the GNLA.- By Our Reporter
