SHILLONG, MAY 1: A government vehicle parked inside the Forest department guest house was set ablaze when miscreants lobbed a petrol bomb on Wednesday evening.
The incident took place at around 3 pm, police said. The Bolero having registration number ML 01 6113 was totally gutted from the inside..
The Bolero is the official vehicle of DFO Nainama Mallai.
According to forest staffs, minutes before the incident, the miscreants first pelted stone at the front glass and later lobbed a petrol bomb. The office staffs rushed outside and extinguished the fire which had already damaged the inside.
Witnesses said that they had seen a group of four boys rushing out of the campus after the incident. Additional Superintendent of Police Vivek Syiem said, “We have asked the concerned department to file an FIR on this regard.”
The motive of lobbing petrol bomb is yet to be ascertained but police said they are already on the job to nab the culprits.- By Our Reporter
