SHILLONG, OCT 24 : Even as cases of arson had been reported from areas including Shillong in the East Khasi Hills district over the past few months because of the pro- ILP ngos agitations, but state home minister Roshan Warjri said the law and order situation in Shillong is under control.
Speaking to reporters, Warjri said on Thursday the government is taking all measures required to maintain law and order in the district and in the state and the government agencies is working very hard .
Warjri while responding to a query on booking those who have been arrested under Meghalaya Preventive Detention Act said the booking of “miscreants under MPDA will depend on inquiry of the cases and the involvement of miscreants.”
Commenting on the frequent agitations, Warjri said it is the people who needs to come forward and come out against the agitations which hampers the common man the most.- By Our Reporter
