SHILLONG, MAY 8: Rajesh Rabha also known as Raphel Rabha has been convicted to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10, 000 by the court of session judge in Shillong for murdering Vijon Rabha on March 20, 2011. The judge who passed the order on May 6 also said if the accused default in payment of the fine he will have to undergo an additional one year imprisonment.
On March 20, 2011 Rajesh Rabha assaulted his colleague Vijon Rabha at their workplace Flavour restaurant in Laitumkhrah. The 21 years old Vijon later succumbed to his injuries. The case was handed to investigating officer sub inspector Lucas D.Sangma, presently Officer-In-Charge of Mawryngkneng police station. He build up a strong evidence against Raphel Rabha which subsequently led to his conviction.- By Our Reporter
