Lyngdoh submits project details to union govt

SHILLONG, OCT 31: Meghalaya rrban affairs minister M Ampareen Lyngdoh met union minister for urban development and submitted new Detail Project Reports (DPR) for development projects for the state. In total the Lyngdoh submitted seven projects to the union ministry of urban development amounting to 541.93 crores.

A meeting between Lyngdoh and the urban affairs ministry was also slated later in the evening at Nirman Bhawan.

Lyngdoh also met the HPL officials and joint secretary of the union government Sanjeev Kumar on Wednesday to finalize future plan of action on all pending projects with HPL.

It was decided that HPL will surrender all housing projects in the state – Nongmynsong, Mawprem, and other areas including Nongpoh immediately. The HPL has assured for a quick facilitation of handing over all projects to MUDA, the nodal agency for necessary completion before March 2015.

It was suggested that beneficiaries of all housing projects should be involved to ensure completion of targeted Dwelling Units in and around the state. Price escalation that has arisen will be calculated and discussion with financial institution like the HUCO or banks would be roped in for necessary financial assistance.

Lyngdoh also met of NBCC general manager A Mummoorthy to discuss immediate completion of housing Projects at Tura – Dakopgre & Williamnagar. She urged the NBCC to speed up the on-going ISBT project, including the parking lot projects in Tura.

Lyngdoh will also take a on-the-spot inspection of the projects in and around Garo hills on November 9with the NBCC teams from Delhi & Tura.- By Our Reporter
