Managerial skill development programme helping budding NE entrepreneurs

 

Shillong, Sept 11:  Enhancing managerial skills for entrepreneurs has been the bottom line of the   program, “Developing Managerial Skills for Entrepreneurship (DMSE)” conducted   by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong funded by the Department   of North Eastern Region and organized by the Center for Development of North   Eastern Region (CEDNER)The second session of this all important   program for budding business honchos of the region concluded Saturday where   legislator Manas Choudhury was chief guest and Professor Keya Sengupta,   Director of IIM Shillong was also present.

IIM   Shillong has been actively involved in organizing both short term and long   term programs for the upliftment of the local community and society of the   state and the North East region as a whole enhancing the capability of the   youth of the region and encouraging them to lean away from the dependence on   government jobs.

Students   were of the opinion that the course has equipped them with better knowledge   and stronger base on which they could develop their existing or new ventures.

Speaking   to www.ohmeghalaya.com Toni, a   student from Manipur said, “I thank the institute for giving us the   confidence to create jobs rather than to seek jobs in the North East and   contribute to the development of the region that is abundant in resources.”

Another   student, Mitali Agarwal expressed how the program has brought in them a   complete transformation that inspires them to be a part of the system that   concentrates not only on making profit but also in sustainable growth. By Our Reporter
