SHILLONG, APR 28: The state on Friday recorded 8 new Covid cases taking the tally of active cases to 17.
Of these, six cases were detected in West Garo Hills and 2 in West Jaintia Hills, according to the health and family welfare department.
The death toll in the state has also gone up to 1626 with the new death case reported in West Garo Hills on Friday morning.
Two Covid patients have also recovered while four are still being hospitalized.
Meanwhile, the total tests conducted is 1239422 of which 96845 are positive confirmed cases.
