Shillong, Nov 20: One Gyan Bahadur Gurung was killed and three others injured in East Jaintia hills district when miscreants armed with gun open fire at them in a labour camp where they were staying Monday morning.
The incident took place at around 3 am on Monday at the labour camp located in Nongjri about thirty kilometers away from Khliehriat. According to the police these miscreants, who identity the police are trying to establish, came to the camp armed with guns and open fire indiscriminately at the labourers who were sleeping the camp.
Gurung died on the spot and three others sustained bullet injuries. These labourers were working in the coal mines. Gurung’s body was brought to the Civil hospital for postmortem.
The others coal mine workers have also been admitted in the Civil Hospital and are undergoing treatment.
Police have launched a massive manhunt for the killers. –By Our Reporter
