Street play held to spread message of World Toilet Day

Williamnagar, Nov 20: The World Toilet Day was observed in Williamnagar on Monday as part of the international day of action aim at breaking the taboo around toilets and draw attention to the global sanitation challenge.

In Williamnagar, the District Water and Sanitation Committee, East Garo Hills under Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan (NBA) organized street play to raise awareness about sanitation as part of World Toilet Day. The street play was organized mainly to raise awareness among the people about the sanitation, maintenance of basic needs like importance of using sanitary toilets and other clean habits.

The street play was enacted by Balsrigittim Youth Club in the Williamnagar main market premises to raise awareness among the rural poor and stress on the importance of using clean sanitary toilets. People gathered to watch the street play with amusement and enjoyed the wittiness of the actors.

East Garo hills deputy commissioner V. Kumar Mantri and DWSC member secretary D War were part of the audience who watched the street play.-By Our Reporter
