NEIGRIHMS empanelled under MHIS-III

abcSHILLONG, AUG 21: The State government has empanelled the North East Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), a super-specialty premiere institution in the region, for the smooth implementation of the Megha Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS) Phase-III.

A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was also signed between NEIGRIHMS and the state nodal agency – New India Assurance Co Ltd and Medicare TPA, which is the third party administrator MHIS Phase-III at a meeting held in the city here on Monday.

The MoU was signed by Medical Superintendent in presence of Director Prof (Dr) D M Thappa and  Deputy Director, NEIGRIHMS.

Documents of agreement were handed over to State Nodal Agency, MHIS phase III by the Director himself.

Speaking on the occasion, Thappa said that it is the moment of pleasure for the administration of NEIGRIHMS that MHIS has now become a reality for the patients who visit NEIGRIHMS.

Although there were some issues regarding terms and conditions of the MoU but the Director asked for sorting out the issues later on so that patients of the state do not suffer, he said.

It was informed in the meeting that empanelment of NEIGRIHMS with the phase II of the Scheme has helped a total number of 1129.

According to him, the empanelment of NEIGRIHMS for phase-III will definitely help many more beneficiaries who come under this scheme to avail the benefits of diagnose and treatment facilities at NEIGRIHMS.
