Nursing admission stopped

SHILLONG, MAY 11: The CMJ University scandal is having a ripple effect as the East Khasi hills deputy commissioner Sanjay Goyal on Saturday stopped a spot admission by a Nursing Institute at Hotel Polo Towers.

The Asian Institute of Nursing Education was taking spot admission at Hotel Polo Towers and Goyal immediately sent magistrate JD Suchiang to verify the antecedents of the institute. The institute was taking spot admission for the B.Sc. and M.Sc nursing courses for the year 2013.

Goyal told reporters, “The institute could not produce any document of approval as well as affiliation from any university. Therefore he directed the institute to stop the spot admission with immediately and seek approval from the district administration by submitting all relevant documents to any admission courses in future.

Goyal said after the CMJ University scandal this verification has become necessary to check the antecedent of the university who comes to Shillong for spot admission.- By Our Reporter
