Restriction on heavy vehicles

NONGPOH MAR 25: Ri Bhoi district magistrate on Wednesday passed an order prohibiting movement of heavy vehicles including coal trucks along the Patharkhmah  (Mairang side) – Tasku- Umling PWD Road.

This order has been issued in view as some coal –laden trucks are illegally transporting their load through the Patharkhmah(Mairang side) – Tasku- Umling PWD road in which the above noted stretch of road has been declared out of bounds for all heavy vehicles and also a No Entry rule has been promulgated throughout the said PWD road for all vehicles conveying a load beyond the permissible 9 M.T.  as the weak BUG Bridge at Lailad situated along the Patharkhmah(Mairang side) – Tasku- Umling PWD Road has deteriorated extensively and the conveyance of load beyond the permissible   9 MT will render in the said structure being drastically compromised and result in loss of property and life.- By Our Reporter
