RG on ILP: Keep doors open

SHILLONG, DEC 11: Former Meghalaya home minister and MLCU vice chancellor RG Lyngdoh said that chief minister Mukul Sangma should not have close the door for negotiation with the pro-ILP ngos even as he informed that he would be giving some suggestions to the government to end the present stalemate over the demand for implementation of the ILP.

Lyngdoh told reporters on Wednesday, “If you close the door for negotiation the agitation will only spill over to the street. One must always keep the door open for negotiation.”

Lyngdoh also informed that he might even give some suggestions to the government on how to end the stalemate by suggesting a mechanism for controlling the influx without causing inconvenience to those, especially the tourists, who comes to visit the state.

Lyngdoh, however, did not reveal the suggestions that he is likely to give to the state government to end the ILP stalemate.- By Our Reporter
