SHILLONG, OCT 13: Air Force stationed at  Laitkor Peak organized ‘Run For Fun’ as part of Air Force Day celebrations recently to commemorate the 82nd anniversary of the Indian Air Force. The beautiful environs of Laitkor peak hummed with activity as station personnel and their families started arriving in droves early morning to take part in the event.

About 400 Air Force personnel, civilians, ladies and children participated in the ‘Run For Fun.”

The 9.5 km run was flagged off from the main gate of the station by Group captain Shailesh Ranjan, station commander of Air Force Station Laitkor peak.  This event was organized to bring awareness about the benefits of walking and running by adopting a healthy life style.

The enthusiasm and excitement of the runners was infectious and the spirit and sense of sport bringing people together was really evocative.   The finish point of the run was at the Katre stadium.
