SCC soloist as one of the judges in 4th Pacific Choir Games

Iba Photo 2SHILLONG, OCT 9: Soloist of the Shillong Chamber Choir Ibarisha Lyngdoh has been invited by a Germany-based organization INTERKULTUR to be one of the judges at the 4th Pacific Choir Games & Grand Prix of Nations Colombo 2017 to be held in Sri Lanka from October 21-28.

The INTERKULTUR has regarded Ibarisha, daughter of Hunnily Lyngdoh & Pilgrim Marbaniang as a successful and accomplished soloist of the Shillong Chamber Choir.

The only Indian representative, Ibarisha will work together with other jury members from UK, Norway, USA, South Africa, New Zealand, Singapore, China, Indonesia, Myanmar and the Philippines.

“It’s an honour and most of all a special moment in my career as a musician. Adjudicating is definitely a rare and yet difficult position for me to be in. I am more than certain that I will come back home enriched with new knowledge through this experience” said Ibarisha.

It may be mentioned that there will be eight (8) choir groups who will be participating from India namely, KC Lights (Meghalaya), the Nagaland Chamber Choir (Nagaland), the Ao NaganChoir (Nagaland), the Mizo Cardinal Choir (Mizoram), the Salvation Singers (Mumbai), Beat Choir (Chennai), the Madras Musical Association Choir (Chennai) and the Sargam Choir (Chennai).

The 4th Asia Pacific Choir Games 2017 being prepared for Colombo, Sri Lanka, INTERKULTUR is eager to explore a new cultural area and tradition, since this is the very first time that an INTERKULTUR event is going to be held in South Asia.

In addition participants will have the chance to attend workshops and seminars.
